Jed Maichele, 56 of Quitman passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at his home. Jed was born February 22, 1968 in Marshall Michigan to the late John & Joyce Marichele. Jed's presence and laughter will be sorely missed at the many bluegrass festivals he frequented across the Midwest and South where he volunteered as "karma control" and was easily recognized sporting his favorite tie-dye shirts and a big grin. He was always there for people he loved. Jed enjoyed going to all the springs that nobody knew how to get to, because you could never GPS them.
Survivors include his children, Jake Maichele of Valdosta, "Jadee" Abby Maichele of Valdosta, and Taylor (Brian) Poling of Ray City; his best friend and the mother of his children, Adrian Sparks; loving girlfriend, Jackie Ward; grandchildren, Monroe Day, Zayne Day, and Scarlett-Rose Hall; brothers, Jason (Brenda) Maichele of Alaska, and Josh Maichele of Thomasville; sister, Jody Maichele of Alaska; nieces, Jessica Maichele, Max Spicer, and Trystyn Maichele; nephew, John Parker Maichele; aunt Cheryl (Bob) Jean; cousins, Gavin Schaberg (Jerry) Ludeman), Sylas (Lily) Schaberg, Stef Lee (Jimer Soukup); and numerous friends across Wisconsin, Florida, and Georgia who became family.
The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
