David Ashley

James David Ashley, 63 of Adel sadly left us on April 16, 2024 at Langdale Hospice House, following a brief illness of end stage kidney disease. David was born May 10, 1960 in Hahira to the late Kenneth & Betty Ashley. He enjoyed rebuilding guns and shooting them. David was a sharp shooter, and was a member of the Brushy Creek Muzzleloaders. He was also an auto mechanic and loved build transmissions. He loved his children & grandchildren, they were his world.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Cindy Ashley; children, Jodi Smith, Jerrod Stalvey, and Jason Brady; grandchildren, Wiley "Nicholas" Harris, Nathanial "Nathan" Harris, Dawson Stalvey, Conner Stalvey (Brittany Henderson), Skyler Cason, and Kensie Cason; brother & sister-in-law, Vic and Alice Ashley, and Dennis & Sandra Griffin; nephew, Mathew Ashley; nieces, Anna Ashley, and Jessy Ashley; mother-in-law, Laquetta Conner; brother-in-laws, Kevin Clements, and Dmar Clements; close friends, Chad Surrancy, and Chris Cravey; and a host of other relatives. David was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Lane Stalvey; brother, Kenneth Darrel Ashely; niece, Amber Lynn Ashley; and father-in-laws, James Conner, and Jimmy Clements.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Bro. William Davis officiating.
