Mrs. Sara Powers, 79 of Sparks passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Powers was born November 3, 1938 to the late George and Jewell Lamb Kelly. She was a member of Sparks United Methodist Church and worked with Southern Bell before she retired.

Survivors include her children, Kevin (Barbara) Harrison of Camilla, Joseph (Debby) Harrison of Valdosta, Tony (Melissa) Harrison of Sparks, and Melanie (John) Onisk of Valdosta; grandchildren, Clarissa Onisk, Derek Onisk, Ansley Harrison, Ashlyn Harrison, Seth Harrison, and Caleb Harrison; brothers, Teddy Kelly of Sparks, Keith Kelly of Sparks, and Kenneth Kelly of San Antonio Tx; sisters, Sylvia Kent of Sparks, Martha Hall of Sparks, and Brenda Mathis of Valdosta.  Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Powers, and brother, Floyd Kelly.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30p.m. at New Life Baptist Church with Rev. Neal Hager officiating. Interment will follow at Sparks City Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to New Life Baptist Church Missions Fund.
