Mr. Maximino Mendoza, 87 of Quitman passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his residence.  Mr. Mendoza was born July 3, 1929 in Anasco, Puerto Rico.  He was a member of the Quitman Church of God and was an automobile mechanic before he retired.

Survivors include his children, Michael Valentine of Belle Glade, Fl. Shirley Valentine of Quitman, and Deborah (William) Wade of Quitman; grandchildren, Luis DeJesus, Jr., Haley Koski, Nicholas Alvarevez, Amber Velasquez, Brandon Wade, Megan Wade, and Ryan Wade; great grandchildren, Cody DeJesus, and Keely DeJesus.  Mr. Mendoza was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Harris Mendoza.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Quitman Church of God with Rev. Gwin Jarriel officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home.
