Mr. Durwood Howard, Sr., 74 of Monticello, FL passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Consulate Health Care of Tallahassee. Mr. Howard was born August 25, 1943 to the late Henry & Mildred Orrick Howard. He was an automobile mechanic and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Quitman.

Survivors include a very special friend, Minnie Waldorf of Monticello, FL; children, Durwood (Teresa) Howard, Jr. of Thomasville, Tina Howard Gay of Adel, David Allen Howard of Fitzgerald, and Susan Howard of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Amanda Gay Rucks, Marcie Gay, Joe Howard, Christopher Howard, Terry Vinton, Elaine Conner, Amber Turner, Brittney Lirette, Shane Howard, Marley, Samantha, and several other grandchildren; several great grandchildren. Mr. Howard was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Lirette; brother, Tony Smith, and one sister, Phyllis Davis Smith.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Brison officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home
