Dorothy Quarles Orr 84 of Quitman died peacefully, Sunday November 5, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center.  Mrs. Orr was born in Haleyville Alabama on December 11, 1932 to the late Dorothy Haden and Harry William Quarles. She graduated from Auburn University where she met her husband of 60 years Fritz Orr Jr. 

She is survived by her son Fritz (Missy) Orr III of South Carolina and daughter Sallie Orr (Brien) Peterkin of North Carolina; grandchildren, Mary Peterkin Worthington, Amanda Peterkin, and Brien Peterkin Jr,; great grandchildren, Maryann Peterkin, and Sallie Lewis Worthington and dear friend Laverne Bell.

Mrs. Orr was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who unselfishly served her family, friends, community and church. She was a school teacher and assisted her husband as they ran Camp Merrie Woode in Cashiers, North Carolina where they lived most of their adult life. Mrs. Orr will be remembered for her warm smile, positive attitude and loving personality. She was a true southern lady and will be missed.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta GA.
